Principal function:

To maximize sales and profitability by managing all aspects of the individual branch operation in accordance with Company policies and procedures including customer service and satisfaction; directing, training, and developing personnel; control of all variable expenses; and satisfying all housekeeping, merchandising, and operating standards.


Responsibilities:

  1. Maximize customer satisfaction with exceptional service and a quality environment.
  2. Achieve budgeted sales, gross profit, and expense lines within each department and total store.
  3. Select, train, supervise, and evaluate all department supervisors and key personnel to insure their attainment of high individual productivity and achievement of the responsibilities and duties contained in their job descriptions.
  4. Maximize market share through analysis of competitions' strengths and weaknesses, merchandise presentation, and community relations.
  5. Establish and maintain favorable store/corporate community relations by dealing with customers directly and fairly, representing the store/corporation in positive, results-oriented activities within the community.
  6. Insure all Company policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of the operations and insure that all branch personnel understand and comply with all state and federal rules, regulations and laws.
  7. Insure maintenance of the plant and equipment to maximize operating efficiency and preserve the security of all Corporate assets
  8. Insure store housekeeping, merchandising and operating standards are maintained to provide a satisfying shopping environment.

Duties

  1. Maintain personal contact with customers and all employees on the sales floor to insure customer satisfaction.
  2. Develop annual operating budgets for sales and expense lines and approve complete operating budget, monitoring performance to achieve budgeted results.
  3. Conduct weekly department supervisor meetings to reinforce store standards and procedures.
  4. Conduct performance evaluations for all department supervisors and key personnel as scheduled.
  5. Conduct weekly store evaluations with department supervisors to determine any action necessary to maintain and elevate store standards, setting goals and objectives to be reviewed during the next store evaluation.
  6. Insure regular price checks are completed on competition; analyze and implement any actions necessary to maximize market share.
  7. Represent the Company on all local community matters and insure that representation creates goodwill and promotes community economic development.
  8. Insure a regular preventative maintenance and sanitation schedule is followed and all safety procedures are implemented to guarantee the comfort and security of both our employees and customers.
  9. Additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Principal function:

Duties:

  2. As directed by the Branch Manager, provide input for performance evaluations for branch personnel.
    1. Provide ongoing training and direction to branch employees.
    2. Ensure that merchandise stock orders are completed as per company guidelines.
    3. Ensure that merchandise is received, priced and merchandised according to company procedures.
  3. Insure a regular preventative maintenance and sanitation schedule is followed and all safety procedures are implemented to guarantee the comfort and security of both our employees and customers.

  1. To insure that customer satisfaction is maximized though proper stock levels, stock mix, and merchandise presentations.
  2. To achieve budgeted sales, inventory turns, and gross profit within the department.
  3. Select, train, supervise and evaluate all personnel to insure attainment of high individual productivity and AC's standards in customer service, housekeeping, merchandising, paperwork completion, Company policies and procedures, and store security.
  4. Maintain communication level with Branch Manager to insure a working relationship that maximizes the attainment of department goals in the context of overall store goals.
  5. Maintain strict inventory control within the department.
  6. Maintain budgeted payroll percentages in the department as outlined by the Branch Manager.
  7. Communicate with appropriate Category Manager and vendors on needs and results within the department.
  8. Implement and facilitate all promotional programs to insure maximum success.

  4. Develop and maintain weekly display plan for all end caps and other promotional display areas with attention given to product mix, signage, store inventory and budgeted gross profit.
  5. Facilitate regular customer service training to insure every employee within the department understands the importance of our customers and possesses the skill to efficiently satisfy their needs.
  6. Conduct weekly department evaluations with the Branch Manager to determine any action necessary to maintain store standards.
  7. Receive, record in log using packing slip, and price all products in accordance with Company procedures.
  8. Reconcile receiving log with inventory register monthly within five days of receipt in store.

Reports to: Branch Manager, Department Supervisor

Principle Function:

The general function of a Management Associate is to train under the direction of a Branch Manager or Department Supervisor in order to develop into a more responsible branch management position. Under such direction, the associate aids in the planning and management of the successful operation of the store or department and over the course of training will work in groceries, general merchandise, front end and office and completes the Company's Management Training Program.


Responsibilities:

All duties as assigned by the Branch Manager or Department Supervisor to include, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Ensure that customer service is the first priority.
  2. Complete all assignments relating to the Management Associate Training Plan.
  3. Supervise or assist with ordering merchandise. Identify needs through stock counts, knowledge of upcoming events and sales history. Provide input on ordering for retail seasonal items. Generate basic orders subject to review by Department Supervisor.
  4. Supervise or assist with receiving and pricing goods and enter into stock books or computer system.
  5. Ensure merchandise is presented properly and that sale events are set up with the appropriate signing and displays.
  6. Assist customers with merchandise, questions, complaints and special orders. Assist at the cash register as required.
  7. Supervise assigned day-to-day staff in assigned areas. Assist with developing staff schedules and training new staff.
  8. Identify and report maintenance and safety problems in buildings. May assist as requested in corrective action.

As experience level permits, may be called upon to relieve Department Supervisor and/or Branch Manager for short periods.
