Northern Store in Tadoule Lake Gets Extreme Makeover
The newly renovated Northern Store in Tadoule Lake officially opened its doors to the public with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and community BBQ on June 13, 2011.
The revamped store underwent extensive renovations and upgrades to both the interior and exterior of the building to make it more modern and energy efficient.
Among the many upgrades are AHT coffin freezers which utilize cooling technology that require no service and less energy consumption. A redesigned HVAC system was also engineered to capture free heat from the self-contained refrigeration units, redirecting it to the sales floor resulting in less energy consumption. The new store also installed exterior LED lighting which will reduce energy consumption by over 80%.
Other renovations include new paint and flooring throughout the store to create a fresh look and new exterior cladding, signage and front entrance.
