Stephanie Leduc, an RCMP officer in Inuvik, NT, is combining her love of running with a desire to contribute to her community.

Stephanie is one of more than 70 participants that will be joining The North West Company in the Healthy Horizons Foundation Destination Marathon this fall in the British Virgin Islands. The marathon is designed to raise money for youth, helping them advance their level of fitness, education, and health.

To participate in the Marathon, each participant is responsible for raising $5,000 for the Healthy Horizons Foundation. All funds raised will go towards helping improve the health and well-being of youth in the communities we serve. "I just feel that in order to have a healthy and happy community, people need to give back," said Stephanie, who is over half way to raising her $5,000 goal. "So this is my way of combining something I love to do with giving back to my community in one."
