North West helped make a stand against violence by supporting the No Stone Unturned event held in Winnipeg, MB in July.

The free concert is held annually to support the Coalition of Families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in Manitoba. The afternoon and evening event on July 27 treated everyone who attended to many different forms of entertainment as well as a silent auction, a free feast, a concert, and finally a candlelight vigil in honor of those who are missing or murdered.

North West was proud to help sponsor the event through financial support to purchase water for the 2,500 attendees. North West believes it is extremely important to help support events such as the No Stone Unturned concert, and to help end all forms of violence to the people living in the communities we serve.

“We are so grateful for the donation,” said Bernadette Smith, No Stone Unturned’s event coordinator, who started the event in honour of her sister Claudette Osborne-Tyo, who has been missing since 2008. “It’s donations such as this that help make the concert happen year after year.”
