The North West team of employees celebrate at the 16th annual Plane Pull for United Way.

North West employees from Gibraltar House came together as a team for the United Way 2019 Plane Pull event earlier this month. North West was proud to have two teams participating: The Giant Tiger team and the North West team.

The North West Company has been a strong supporter of United Way for over 20 years, participating in annual workplace fundraising campaigns to collect donations through employee pledges and fundraising.

The Plane Pull is the annual kick-off event for United Way’s city-wide campaign. This year, teams of 20 people took turns pulling a Lockheed C-130 Hercules or a Boeing 727 aircraft.

We are proud to say that the Giant Tiger team came in second place out of 80 teams – finishing their pull in 16.9 seconds. The event raised more than $88,000 towards United Way Winnipeg’s 2019 campaign goal of $21.6 million. NWC is happy to be part of team based events like these which helps bring employees together while at the same time contributing to a great cause.
