Giant Tiger team raises thousands for Healthy Horizons Foundation

 

More than 50 participants from all across Canada are gearing up to head to the British Virgin Islands to participate in this years Healthy Horizons Destination Marathon at the end of November. The marathon is in support of The North West Company's Foundation, Healthy Horizons.

To participate in the marathon, runners are required to fundraise a minimum of $5000, which is no easy feat. This year, one team of runners in particular went above and beyond raising nearly $38,000 between the 5 participants. The Giant Tiger team based out of Alberta, were happy to be able to raise funds for healthy living initiatives.

“We’re so proud of Team GT for raising so much money to go towards Healthy Horizons and all the great initiatives that the Foundation supports. I’m really glad our team was able to step up and we can’t wait to run the marathon!” says Amanda Fast, Regional Support Manager for Giant Tiger.

All funds raised by marathon participants will go towards The North West Company’s charity, Healthy Horizons Foundation which focuses on healthy initiatives for youth in northern communities.
