The Canadian Red Cross recognized two inspiring Manitobans at the Power of Humanity Awards Luncheon, where the purpose of the event is to inspire individuals to pursue humanitarian goals and recognize the spirit of humanity in Manitoba.

University student Cameron Adams received the 2019 Canadian Red Cross Young Humanitarian Award in Manitoba for his passion for helping people and his dedication to reconciliation. He is working on an app that aims at revitalizing the Swampy Cree Language.

Senator Murray Sinclair received the 2019 Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian Award in Manitoba for his work towards reconciliation and for volunteering in numerous organizations.

“We feel that Sinclair’s work on reconciliation is extremely uplifting and he’s paving the way forward for many organizations and individuals. He’s just bridging many different cultures, so it’s an honour for the Red Cross to recognize him,” says Vice-President of the Canadian Cross for Manitoba and Nunavut Shawn Feely.

The North West Company was glad to be able to attend this event and is proud to support agencies like The Canadian Red Cross.
