Rossville Mission was established in 1840 during the fur trade. It is located along Little Playgreen Lake and the east channel of the Nelson River, about 30 km north of Lake Winnipeg, and is close to Norway House Cree Nation.

The community is about 800 km north of Winnipeg, accessible by road through Provincial Trunk Highway 6 connecting to Provincial Road 373. It is also accessible by air, through the Norway House Airport.
