On Aug. 22, 2025, the Cross Lake NorthMart store hosted an afternoon barbecue after a challenging summer shaped by the impacts of wildfires, which left the community with limited chances to gather.

As a long-time part of Cross Lake, the store team felt the event was a meaningful way to show appreciation and connect with customers. Store manager Aswin Anikuttan and his team welcomed everyone with an afternoon filled with good food, connection and community spirit, and handed out NorthMart-branded gifts to all attendees.

“The event was a great success, with strong turnout and lots of positive feedback,” said Anikuttan.

The store looks forward to hosting similar events in the future.
