Our Sheshatshiu Northern store in Newfoundland and Labrador was honoured to support this year’s Manishan Nui Gathering by assembling 200 food hampers for community members.
Every September, the Manishan Nui Gathering brings together the Innu communities of Labrador to celebrate traditional cultural practices and reconnect with the land. The week-long gathering invites attendees to build canvas tents, embrace nature, and support cultural learning across generations by recreating and honoring the past.
Thank you to our Sheshatshiu Northern store team, who volunteered their time to assemble the hampers filled with everyday essentials funded by local community partners. The store also provided special discounts and donated exciting raffle prizes.

“As a new store manager, I want to show that we’re more than a business — we’re part of the community,” said Digna Ramirez-Collins. “Beyond building strong partnerships, seeing everyone’s smiles and appreciation made it all worthwhile.”
Through this collaboration, the store has strengthened its relationships with local partners, leading to additional special orders for general merchandise and deli supplies as part of the gathering.
