This holiday season, the Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc. (MKO) Santa Express once again brought the Christmas spirit to remote and northern Indigenous communities across Manitoba. Reaching more than 12,000 children each year, the program is a much-anticipated holiday tradition that fosters connection, celebration, and togetherness across these communities.

This year, alongside other generous donors, The North West Company helped bring Santa Express to 23 communities by making a $20,000 contribution. The holiday spirit reached many remote communities, which was made possible by Perimeter Aviation and Custom Helicopters.
Children, families and senior residents gathered to welcome Santa with excitement, sharing warm hugs, sweet treats, and gifts. Santa Express also made special visits to care homes in Thompson, Bunibonibee, and Winnipeg, extending the holiday cheer to more senior community members.

As many communities continue to recover from the economic and emotional impacts of last summer’s wildfires, the program offered a meaningful opportunity for connection and celebration, bringing moments of joy to families and community members.
