This year, the Northern store in Tataskweyak, Manitoba proudly supported the community’s Annual Fishing Derby by donating a Ski-Doo as one of the event’s raffle prizes.

The gathering brought together over 2,000 participants from across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario to enjoy outdoor fishing activities and friendly competition, marking the largest derby the community has hosted to date.

With many residents still displaced following last year’s wildfires, the event provided an opportunity for everyone to reconnect with a renewed sense of belonging.

Our Northern store team further supported the event through in-store event ticket sales and by contributing breakfast supplies to the band hall, helping arrange food for visitors from neighbouring communities.

"We were excited to participate in the competition and engage with the community members sharing some great moments together,” said Store Manager Joel Thomas James.
