Building Inclusive Opportunities: AC Sitka’s Longstanding Partnership with SAIL

Jun 12, 2026

Since 2019, AC Sitka has proudly supported Southeast Alaska Independent Living (SAIL), an organization that helps seniors and individuals with disabilities live independently and access essential community services. This year, the store donated $200 in gift cards to support SAIL’s annual year-end cruise celebration, helping provide food and refreshments for the event.

The store partners with SAIL several times throughout the year, welcoming program participants to learn about retail careers and employment opportunities. AC Sitka takes pride in having welcomed five graduates to its team, with three continuing to work there today.

“We’ve been working with SAIL for a long time now,” said Store Manager Vince Winter. “It’s a great opportunity for us to help create positive changes in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities while also strengthening our team.”

Each year, the celebration recognizes the teachers and facilitators who help keep the program running, while celebrating the achievements and hard work of its participants.

AC Sitka looks forward to continuing to support the communities it serves through collaborative partnerships that foster inclusion and create meaningful opportunities for local residents.
