This past May, AC Sitka opened its store parking lot to support Sitka Fastpitch Softball Club, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting young softball athletes, to host a fundraiser for three middle school teams to participate in a 10-day tournament and camp in Oregon, U.S.

Organized by a team of volunteer parents, including Sitka’s Front End Manager Jill Servida, all donations went toward covering airfare and other travel expenses.

Over the two days, the club members sold refreshments to customers in the store’s outdoor space, using a $250 gift card donated by the AC Sitka team to purchase supplies. They successfully raised just over $1,000 per player toward fees and other travel costs.

The tournament provided an opportunity for the young athletes to continue building their skills and connect with other players through friendly competitions.
