The Healthy Horizons Foundation (HHF) proudly supported Coral Harbour’s Heathy Living Program with an $8,000 grant, helping ensure that nearly 300 youth in this Nunavut island community have access to nutritious snacks throughout the 2025-26 school year when participating in after-school activities.

Through the Healthy Living program, the municipal government provides opportunities for youth to engage in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, often in the presence of community Elders. With limited programming available during spring and summer months, these initiatives play an important role in meaningfully engaging youth while promoting physical activity and healthy eating.
HHF’s contribution helps ensure that youth participating in community hall programs and hockey sessions at the local arena can access healthy snacks through the local school shop. This support also helps ease the financial strain many families face when trying to provide nutritious food for their families.
“The kids really enjoy having snacks during activities and it’s reassuring to know they have access to healthier options to help keep them stay energized,” said Tooma Natsiq, Senior Administrator Officer of the Hamlet.
The Healthy Horizons Foundation, established by The North West Company, is proud to empower youth in northern and Indigenous communities to build strong, healthy lifestyles through grants that support community-led programs focused on Health & Well-being, Culture & Education, and Nutrition & Food Security.
