Each year on July 9, Nunavut Day is celebrated in communities across the territory and throughout Canada to recognize the Inuit homeland and honour its unique culture, language, and history. This year, The North West Company proudly supported Nunavut Day celebrations hosted by Larga Baffin Ltd., a medical boarding home caring for Nunavummiut travelling from the Qikiqtani region to its facility in Ottawa.

For more than 240 residents who were away from home during this special occasion, Larga Baffin staff organized a variety of games, activities, shared meals, and contests to celebrate the day together. North West donated $200 in gift cards as game prizes which residents can redeem at their local Northern or NorthMart store when they return home.
