On Aug. 22, 2026, Northern Stanley Mission, SK, welcomed 300 community members to its Annual Customer Appreciation BBQ, bringing together families to enjoy a day of connection and celebration.

This year, Northy Bear, the mascot of the Healthy Horizons Foundation (HHF), which is the charitable arm of The North West Company, joined the celebrations. HHF supports healthy living for children and youth through grant funding and after-school programs. Northern held a fundraising raffle draw in support of HHF, helping to advance its mission to empower youth in the communities where Northern/NorthMart stores operate.

Each year, the store looks forward to bringing together residents and thanking customers and community partners for their continued support. The team arranged a BBQ feast and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.

“Our Customer Appreciation BBQ was a wonderful opportunity to thank our customers and enjoy delicious food together,” shared Store Manager Ryan Luyk. “It was great to see so many customers join us on such a beautiful summer day. We’re also happy to have been able to raise awareness and funds for the Healthy Horizons Foundation. Northy definitely brought smiles to many faces that day.”
