Greener Tomorrow brings Attawapiskat hockey players to LNHL

The Attawapiskat Minor Hockey players will be able to attend the Little NHL in Mississauga, thanks to a Greener Tomorrow grant.

A cheque for $17,164 was presented to the Attawapiskat Minor Hockey players as part of the Greener Tomorrow program. The funds will be used to help Attawapiskat youth participate in hockey tournaments and leagues.

Attawapiskat Band Manager Wayne Turner is pleased his community is participating in the Greener Tomorrow program, which is helping to fund youth initiatives while addressing important environmental concerns. For Turner, improving the environment and investing in the next generation should go hand in hand. The Greener Tomorrow program is helping Attawapiskat do just that.

“It is essential that for the long term benefit of our community, and world, that items that negatively impact our environment are addressed so that future generations can enjoy what we have,” said Turner.
