A grant from the Greener Tomorrow Initiative will help the Pinawa Foundation support improvements to Trans Canada Trail.

The Pinawa Friends of the Trans Canada Trail (PFTCT) submitted the grant application with hopes to purchase a second Eco-counter Pyro-box, a device that tracks how many people walk and bike past it. The $5,233.94 grant will allow the PFTCT to gather more accurate data from multiple locations using both tracking boxes.

Data that is collected from these counters supports improvements that are now underway at the trail head, and is shared with the Local Government District, the Pinawa Trails committee, Trails Manitoba, and the Trans Canada Trail head office.

“The Pinawa Foundation is pleased to have brought Solo’s generosity together with the Pinawa Friends of the Trans Canada Trail’s need for the betterment of our local trails,” said Carol Findlay, Treasurer of the Pinawa Foundation.
