Rankin Inlet will clean up their community this spring thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Greener Tomorrow Program.

Rankin Inlet, NU, will be using the grant awarded to them to help fund community cleanup initiatives in late June, as well as to fund wages for summer students throughout the community. Thanks to Northern, Rankin Inlet will not only be a cleaner, “greener” place to live, but also will support local youth.

The Hamlet of Rankin thanked Northern and the Greener Tomorrow by posting on social media “Thank you to the Northern Store for their donation in the amount of $5,311.55! These funds will go towards our community clean up initiatives and wages for summer students.”

The Greener Tomorrow Program is an initiative designed to reduce the plastic waste in communities while supporting local initiatives. Customers are charged per plastic bag, then all funds accumulated throughout the year are reinvested back into the community.
