The pharmacy team from Fort Simpson, NT visited Fort Liard, about 300 kilometers away, to participate in the town’s community health fair in October.

The health fair was organized to educate residents in Fort Liard on various health topics and to promote nutrition, physical activity and other healthy behaviours.

Pharmacist Manager Andril Panshyn and Pharmacy Assistant Anastasiia Panshyna talked to community members about services available from Northern Pharmacy, including areas where residents can receive treatment directly from the Pharmacy without needing to see a physician.

“The Wellness Fair was a great place to represent our pharmacy. We talked about pharmacy services we provide as well as First Nations benefits. We shared our experience with other healthy leaders to get a better understanding of public needs. Overall, it was a productive and interesting trip,” says Andril Panshyn.

The Fort Simpson team was glad to contribute at the health fair and help out the community.

“Our team’s fast, safe, effective delivery of Pharmacy services combined with a focus on individual and community health helps people across Deh Cho region live better,” says Director Timothy Smith.
