When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Many Canadians stayed home for extraordinarily long weekend – and Northern Fond Du Lac voluntarily created an activity that everyone could enjoy in-home.

The indoor challenge – which involves taking a video of oneself wearing as many pairs of jeans as possible and walking in a straight line – was destined to be a hit as soon as it came online. Posted on the Fond Du Lac in-home activity Facebook page, this contest invited people from all age groups to participate. The most impressive entry to the public from each age group – youth, mature and senior – was deemed a winner, receiving a store gift card.

“This activity helps us to be involved with in the community, allowing us to have an interaction with our customers outside of work,” explains Northern Fond Du Lac Store Manager Kavirasa Kanagaiah. “This plays a major part in building relationship with the community members. Personally, I get the chance to know them better and it gives me something to strike a conversation about every time they enter the store. It makes them feel better and the shopping trip more enjoyable.”

Community members were very appreciative of the store’s all-embracing initiative and ongoing support during these crazy times, he added.
