Children in Churchill, MB will get to enjoy a fun holiday party this year, thanks to funds raised with help from The North West Company Inc. and its staff members.

North West provided sponsorship support to a charity golf tournament hosted by Group Electrical Contractors Ltd. (GEC) on September 18, in support of the Town of Churchill Children’s Christmas Party.

The tournament featured a day filled with golf challenges, a silent auction, door prizes and delicious food. The North West Company was happy to support the event by sending three teams to compete in the event, donating a Smart TV for the door prize and bidding on - and winning (!) - a Churchill vacation prize package.

The golf tournament was a major success and was able to gather lots of community sponsorship.

“Especially now, at a time when the town has seen a drastic decline in tourism and feels the effects of the pandemic. We would really like to thank you, The North West Company. Your support will go a long, long way in Churchill. GEC is both humbled and proud to be associated with such great people supporting such a great cause!” said Sheryl White, GEC Office Manager and Safety Coordinator.

The funds raised from the tournament will go straight to Churchill’s youth, aged 1-17, and will give them the opportunity to experience a community Christmas gathering and help lift up spirits.
