Stanley Mission is home to a proud Cree community, located 80 km northeast of La Ronge on the Churchill River or 310 km north of Prince Albert. Stanley Mission is one of the oldest settlements in Northern Saskatchewan and is accessible through Highway 915, providing year-round transportation to its 1951 residents (as per Lac La Ronge Indian Band website). Cree and English are the most common languages spoken in the community.
