Halloween was saved for hundreds of kids from Wabasca-Desmarais, AB, thanks to the Wabasca Fire Department and the Northern store.

More than 900 costumed children visited the Bruce Rathbone Fire Hall on the afternoon of October 31 to trick-or-treat and enjoy Halloween in a safer way during the pandemic.

In previous years, the Fire Department has held various activities to enjoy Halloween with community members but with the pandemic, many community members felt door-to-door trick-or-treating would be unsafe. In keeping with the tradition, the Fire Department handed out candy and Wabasca Northern Store was happy to support and donate the treats once again.

“I cannot thank Northern enough for their continued support for this event over the past two years,” said Mike Bissel, Fire Chief.
